Sugarland Lake Association Inc at a Glance
We appreciate your interest in our private lakes and hope you find them to be as relaxing, yet rewarding, as we have. Sugarland Lake is an 80 Acre lake and McKay Lake is a 24 Acre lake. The lakes are home to various types of catfish, Striped Bass, Large Mouth Bass, Lake Perch, Brim and a lot of Crappie. We currently have two parks and two boat launches. One on each lake. We offer annual fishing permits, day passes and Flat bottom boat rentals.
Sugarland Lake Association is a 501 (c)(3) non profit organization that owns the lakes and several of the properties around them. The board consists of residents of the neighborhood and work on a volunteer basis. Our interest is improving the lakes and the surrounding community. Your support helps us do that.
Besides our responsibilities to the lake and association properties, we also strive to bring the community of Sugarland together. We do this by organizing neighborhood watches, clean ups and festivals as well as supporting Appalachia School and local boy scout troop 4-160.
One of the most challenging efforts we have is identifying lake problems, developing solutions, and then implementing them. We do our best to prioritize and maximize our dollars for the greatest impact. We have many projects on our agenda, but can only finance so many, so must be diligent in how we approach them.
